Apple iPhone SE 2 CAD renders leaked, ditches the headphone jack and physical home button

Apple is said to be working on bringing a refresh of its famous iPhone SE back to the market sometime this year. It’s been two years down the line since the iPhone SE was released, and now rumors of the tech giant refreshing the device have been rekindled. Just recently, a leaked video surfaced on Chinese social media showing what is believed to be the iPhone SE 2 with headphone jack and physical home button.

While the Cupertino giant is yet to throw its weight behind the status of the iPhone SE 2, popular onleaks has come up with a 3D CAD renders of the purported iPhone SE 2 with evidence that the device might not retain the physical 3.5mm headphone jack.

Gizchina News of the week

The iPhone SE 2 shown in the leaks is a completely different device carrying the latest in technology from Apple’s stables, at least on the outside. First revealed by Tiger mobiles, the iPhone SE 2 3D renders reveal a device with a classic iPhone design introduced by the iPhone 5. Unlike what we were made to believe, the SE 2 features a metallic rear panel and glass inserts on the top and bottom edges to aid antenna reception, so the device might not support the wireless charging feature if this leak is to be believed.

The renders indicate the iPhone SE will come fitted with a fullscreen display with minimal bezels on both sides, and the famous iPhone X like notch housing the earpiece. Other sensors, as well as the TouchID sensor or a Home button, are not visible, an indication that the FaceID will handle the SE 2 security. The device appears to have ditched the headphone jack as there is no visible one on the renders, the power button, however, retains its top position.

Th iPhone SE 2 expected specs are still a bit scare, but there are rumors that the device might come with A10 chip, an older camera sensor, and an LCD panel in an effort to keep the price within the budget segment.
