Qualcomm And Apple Court Cases Continue


Tow American manufacturing giants, Qualcomm and Apple have been in the middle of several lawsuits in recent times. Recall that Apple sued Qualcomm in three countries for its “outrageous” royalties for the use of its tech. Apple also claimed that Qualcomm required it to pay a percentage of the iPhone’s revenue in return for the use of Qualcomm patents. Now, Apple has filed an invalidation request against Qualcomm’s patent.

Qualcomm China Announces Infringement on Multiple iPhones: Apple Applies Invalid PatentsAccording to the People’s Daily report, the Patent Re-examination Board conducted an oral hearing on the invalidation request case No. 4W106649. The case involved patent No. 201310491586.1 entitled “Card Metaphor for Activities in Computing Devices”, and the patentee is Qualcomm Incorporated. The request for invalidation was Apple Computer Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

To put it simply, Qualcomm and Apple patent lawsuits are related to the technical solution of using the swipe gestures to perform APP switching or exit during the interaction of computer devices and GUIs in the country.
