Apple To Copy Huawei: Set To Launch A Triple-Lens iPhone

A few weeks ago, Huawei broke a new ground in the smartphone camera design by using a triple camera setup in the Huawei P20 Pro. Fresh reports now suggest that Apple will do same. Jeff Pu, an analyst at Yuanda Securities, said in a recent research report that the next generation of iPhones in the second half of next year will have at least one with a triple camera setup just like Huawei P20 Pro.

Pu did not give any specific details but a previous speculation by Economic Daily News suggests that it would have 6-piece lenses with a maximum 5x zoom. Presently, Apple smartphones have 2x optical zoom but a triple-lens camera would permit 3x optical zoom.

Gizchina News of the week

Apple always reserves the best for last just as it did with iPhone X. However, the possibility of a triple camera lens iPhone this year is very low thus we may have to wait until the end of next year. A couple of renders regarding the alignment of the triple cameras on an iPhone has been released by iDropNews. See them below.

They have no problem copying from the same phone company that this country is not allowing to sell their phones. I think Apple is threaten by this strong competition forget about Samsung I believed Huawei would have been a bigger threat to there bottom line. The Huawei 20 Pro is an awesome phone.

so strange, when Xiaomi launches its cheaper flagship, western public thinks that it is less advanced although it has many advantages upon apple, samsung etc. while lacking some features like wireless charging, water resistance etc.
When Huawei launches the same thing for a high price and lacking the same features, western public says that it is very cool
So easy to sell products to the people thinking that higher price is always better

Agreed but the P20 Pro 4K recording with EIS is still rather lacking. Still image is top tho.

it’s like this “most people that go’s to a expensive restaurant will automatically think the food is delicious, even if they find the food strange, they will say it’s a new taste, its exotic”

meanwhile if the same people goes to a cheap restaurant they would faster say that the same prepared food isn’t good and if it taste strangely … then forget it

The light16 camera failed. That conceptualised multiple small apparature cameras to combine into a big image allowing 5x zoom. Mobile companies trying to copy the same concept instead of increasing sensor size and detachable lens system. This might look as good phone prototype with little change in.photography capabilities
