Moto Z3 Play Specs and Features Leaked


Core hardware and software features of the Moto Z3 Play have been leaked thanks to an Internal Document that folks at XDA Developers got their hands on. The document threw light upon the processor, display and other nitty-gritty of the upcoming smartphone. Judging from last year’s Z2 Play launch, the Z3 Play will probably hit the market at the end of this quarter.

The document details the Z3 Play as having a 6-inch AMOLED Max Vision Display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The almost bezel-less display will probably have Gorilla Glass on top. Previous reports showcase a phone that has a thin profile and a full-screen display, in accordance with the details in the document. The processing will be handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 32/64GB onboard storage. A 12MP primary sensor coupled with an unknown secondary sensor is in tow with the selfies being taken care by an 8MP sensor. A 3000mAh battery will power the phone. Reportedly, Motorola will be launching four new Mods along with the Z3 Play, Power, Style, Gamepad, and Projection.

On the software front, the UI will remain close to stock with the usual suite of features like Moto Display and Moto Voice along with Moto Experience. This time around, the Moto Voice will be allowed a much deeper OS access to allow for better control over voice. Gesture navigation will be a part of the Moto Z3 Play. Face Unlock coupled with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner will take care of the security. “Cinemagraphs” will be the moniker for live photos. It will be a part of the default camera app along with features like spot color, cutout mode, document scanner, and a manual mode. Expect Android 8.1 out of the box, meaning, Project Treble will be supported.
