The Xiaomi Mi 8 is all set to be unveiled on the 31st of May. The reported image showcases a smartphone with a translucent back which honestly looks great. The HTC U12+ was launched just about an hour or so ago and has a translucent blue variant which is quite attractive. The Xiaomi Mi 8 will surely be a head turner if it has the translucent black back.
The translucent back houses a vertically aligned dual camera setup with the Mi logo sitting on the bottom. Another distinctive visible feature is the red coloured power button. The volume control button sits right above the red power button. The Mi 8 is expected to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. A 6.01-inch notched display is reported to be present on the Mi 8. If leaks are to be believed, it will have an under-the-display fingerprint scanner making it one of the few manufacturers to implement the tech. The image and previously reported renders do hint at the absence of a physical fingerprint scanner. Moreover, the Mi 8 is expected to sport facial recognition tech that is similar to iPhone X’s. MIUI 10 will probably be available out of the box with Android 8.0 underneath.
Gizchina News of the week
Xiaomi has made it official that they will be alunching an array of different products on 31 May. One of which is expected to be the Mi 8. MIUI 10 will aslo be unveiled on the same day. Apparently, rumors are rife that Mi 7 will also be unveiled although the chances seem low. Another leak says that the top end model of the Mi 8 will cost about $767 whereas the starting price would be around $563. It’ll probably be Xiaomi’s most expensive phone at $767 after the Mi Mix 2S. All these are speculations based on leaks and rumors, so take this report with a pinch of salt.
Haha… There’s a reason they cover the back. Cellphones look like garbage from cramping everything to keep the profile slim.
looks premium
It’s not a good idea to make the back translucent. It wouldn’t look good esthetically.
It looks ugly, I would not dream of buying a phone like that.
