From our last week poll, 55% of our voters said their smartphones have not received the Android Oreo update while 45% have received the update.
A couple of years ago, the material used for a smartphone is not debatable – It’s basically plastic. However, there is currently a plethora of choices which range from metal/aluminum to ceramic and even glass. Although metal-rear smartphones are quite popular, most of the “first class” OEMs have jumped into the glass-rear bandwagon.
Gizchina News of the week
It’s quite easy to understand why these manufacturers are joining the glass rear trend. The glass rear is the only design for now that supports wireless charging but note that not all glass phones support wireless charging. In addition, a glass rear sparkles and looks more premium. However, do not forget that with a glass rear phone you have to be extra careful because a simple fall may ruin the beauty. If you ask me, I really enjoy the premium glass appearance of a smartphone so I will go for glass. That is my choice anyway, what do you think? Do you prefer glass or metal-backed phones? Cast your vote in the poll below, and if there is anything you need to add, let us know in the comments
I don’t care what it’s made of as I always put a silicone backing on anyway. My choice is whatever is lighter, I hate phones that are unnecessarily heavy.
I prefer ceramic
