Sony has silently introduced a new mid-ranger in the Xperia family of phones today – the Xperia XA2 Plus. It is a similar model to the Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra which are currently on the market.
In terms of design, the Xperia XA2 Plus is similar to its other XA2 siblings other than the fact that it has a 2:1 aspect ratio. Hence, the bezels on the top and bottom have been shaved off to maximize the screen. Sony’s typical design language continues but the Japanese brand has polished the looks with diamond-cut edges, anodised aluminium frame and a metallic finishing. The fingerprint is on the top side rather than near the centre (as seen in newer models).

The Xperia XA2 Plus boasts a 6.0-inch Full-HD+ display and is layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added safety. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 630 which is a decent SoC while there are 4GB/6GB of RAM options. Storage options include 32GB/64GB while the battery is a good 3,580mAh capacity. Android version hasn’t been mentioned but we’re sure that it will be Android Oreo.
The Xperia XA2 Plus has a 23MP rear camera with 4K video recording and an 8MP front camera with a 120-degree wide angle lens. As for extras, the Xperia XA2 Plus is the first phone to come with hi-res audio via the 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C.
The handset will be available in Silver, Black, Gold and Green colours and will launch in late August in single SIM and dual SIM variants.
Sony . What is your problem in lunching flagships instead lunching midrangers at higher price. If it’s a 6gb ram device what prevents 128gb storage.
