Honor India schedules launch event for July 24, likely for the Honor 9i

Huawei Honor sub-brand has just issued press invites for a launch event in India set to hold on July 24. There’s no word on what the Chinese manufacturer will unleash at the event, the invite as you can see below carries #NOORDINARYBEAUTY in Blue and Purple colors and two O’s, and if our guess is right, that could be an indication that the device in question will come in two color variants with dual rear/front cameras.

There are speculations that the device might be the Honor 9i(2018) which was launched in China recently at $218/ 1,399 yuan, but will land in the India subcontinent as the Honor 9X.

Gizchina News of the week

The device offers some interesting features, but most prominent of them all is its photographic capabilities. It uses a front-facing 16MP photosensitive enhanced lens with a pixel size of 2.0μm, and that makes it a great device for taking selfies in dim light conditions. The Honor 9i’s front-facing camera uses a 3D stereoscopic light fusion algorithm and a millimeter-level accurate detection to model facial skeleton contours and make photos more detailed. It intelligently recognizes gender and provides precise customized beauty, according to different facial features of men and women.  Plus, it supports beauty mode and AR function. Of course, it supports Face unlock option.

On the reverse side, the device uses a combo of 13MP + 2MP sensor with a multi-frame synthesis technology. You can feast your eyes on a couple of the Honor 9i camera samples here.

Priced at CNY 1,399 ($218) in China, the Honor 9i should arrive India at about RS. 14,500/ $211.
