Huawei Nova 3 Officially Released at 2999 Yuan ($446)


On July 18, the Huawei Nova 3 was officially released in Shenzhen. It is a quite new smartphone with tons of attractive features. This phone uses a 3D curved glass material and has a slim 3.55mm middle frame, providing Black, Blue, Purple, Gold color combinations. Each color option has its own custom theme.

In terms of the core configuration, the Huawei Nova 3 uses a 6.3-inch notch screen with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2340×1080, a Kirin 970 processor, a 6GB of memory, a 128GB of storage, and a battery capacity of 3750mAh. The phone runs on EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1. At the same time, it supports GPU Turbo graphics acceleration, gallery search, 3D Qmoji AR dynamic expression, AI wisdom map, intimate assistant (AR shopping / AI sweeping purchase), etc.

In addition, this is the first Nova-series phone, sporting a quad-camera. There is a front-mounted 24MP + 2MP dual-camera, supporting 2m × 1.5m zoom and based on AI technology that can intelligently identify a variety of typical scenes to configure camera parameters automatically. In addition to the 24MP front lens, it also provides an infrared wide-spectrum lens that works together with the main front sensor to provide a face unlock feature. The depth information recognition accuracy is 2.5 times higher. Thus, it can identify the owner’s face and unlock in a completely dark environment. It is worth mentioning that the Huawei Nova 3 also implements a 3D face financial security payment, effectively preventing image/video model attacks.

On the back, it carries a 24MP (black and white) + 16MP (color) dual-camera with a dual f/1.8 aperture, a smart recognition of 22 categories and 500+ scenes to configure camera parameters automatically. Moreover, the Huawei Nova 3 adopts HDR Pro hardware-level backlighting technology to take the lead in realizing HDR real-time preview and recording.

Finally, the Huawei Nova 3 is priced at 2,999 yuan ($446) and will officially go on sale at 10:08 on July 19.
