Samsung plans to launch Galaxy A (2019) phones with in-display fingerprint sensor and triple rear cameras

Early next year, Samsung will introduce the 10th edition of its Galaxy S series of smartphones, and if reports making the rounds are to be believed, then it mean the Korean giant would be throwing everything into what would eventually be one of its most advanced smartphones ever. According to an increasing number of leaks and rumors, the 10th-anniversary device would come in three variants some of which will feature trendy features such as triple rear cameras, an in-display fingerprint sensor and more.

Now, in order to bridge the gap between the flagship grade S series and the mid-range Galaxy A series, reports from Korea suggest the tech giant might be giving its next A series smartphones tipped for 2019 release a similar Galaxy S series treatment. Precisely, ET News reports that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy A (2019) series devices with a triple rear camera setup as well as the in-display fingerprint scanner. This move according to ET News is a calculated attempt aimed at re-capturing a sizeable market share from some Chinese companies offering devices with similar features at very affordable prices.

However, the report says there could be some variations in the manner Samsung plans to implement these features for both series. While the Galaxy S series would be getting the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor treatment, it would opt for the optical display-based fingerprint sensor for the Galaxy A (2019) series.

There are no words yet when the Galaxy A (2019) will launch, but going by Samsung’s pattern of release, these devices might actually arrive even before the upcoming 10th anniversary Galaxy S10 which is supposed to arrive sometime in the early days of 2019.
