Huawei at its IFA keynote presentation a few hours ago not only announced the Hisilicon Kirin 980 SoC, the brand also announced the Lite variant of the Mate 20 series, while also announcing the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will arrive much later in October in a London event. On the sideline of the IFA event in Berlin, Germany, Huawei CEO, Richard Yu revealed some information which some smartphone makers usually keep under wraps.

Though the Huawei’s update to the flagship P20 series won’t arrive until sometime next year, probably at the MWC 2019, CEO, Richard Yu already gave us an insight of what the next Huawei p series would bring to bear.
The CEO dropped the hint when asked in a group interview when asked to respond to Huawei’s recent impressive sales performance, CEO Yu rather than dropping a simply reply gave a lengthy response where he said “Mate 20 will be even better [than the P20 Pro]… and next year the P30 will be even better.” He also notes that the upcoming Mate 20 and Mate 20 pro will feature superior object recognition, real-time image processing, and real-time object segmentation which are all embedded into the recently unveiled Kirin 980 SoC. The feature will most likely be transferred to the Huawei P30 which obviously would be powered by the Kirin 980 SoC.
