Huawei Mate 20 Pro 40W fast charge test: Delivers 100% in 68 minutes


Recently, Huawei officially released the Mate 20 series flagship mobile phone in London. The company has also announced that it will release these smartphones in China on October 26.  The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is equipped with a 40W super fast charger and it is the first super-fast charger with a battery capacity of more than 4000 mAh.

Smartphone enthusiasts are very interested in the 40W fast charge of this smartphone. Some tests were conducted to explore the true strength of the 40W fast charge. According to the test results, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro started charging from 0%. After the first 68 minutes, it had 100%. After 15 minutes from the start of charging, the power reached 36%, and after 50 minutes it hit 95% at which point, the charging speed slowly drops.

In comparison, Samsung Note 9 with 18W fast charge and 4000 mAh battery takes 109 minutes to fill. This is 40 minutes more than Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Basically, the 40W charger for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro can charge 1.5% of the power per minute. For charging safety, Huawei said that it ensured that this charger is safe and it passed the authority certification of TÜV Rheinland, so users don’t have to worry.
