Samsung confirms it’s working on a foldable screen Laptop

Several OEMs including Huawei, Apple, Xiaomi, Oppo, Lenovo, and the rest are very much hard at work perfecting plans on releasing devices with foldable displays. While Samsung could be the first to push a true foldable smartphone to the market, reports have it that Lenovo and Huawei could immediately respond to whatever Samsung has to offer come 2019.

Gizchina News of the week

While the concept of a foldable phone sounds laudable, reports say Samsung might be looking beyond just Foldable smartphones. At a launch event held recently, a Samsung executive confirmed that its company is developing a new form factor for laptops that could align it with changing market dynamics for mobile devices. While not much has been revealed about the said foldable laptop, the top Exec said the foldable laptop display will not just simply fold in and out but create new value and user experience, amid the changing market trends for laptops.

Much like Lenovo which reportedly inked a deal with LG for foldable display, Samsung too is reported to be working with third-party display makers for its future foldable OLED display laptops. We are not sure whom the display maker could be or when the foldable laptop will be hitting the market, however, Samsung probably might briefly showcase the device later in November at its developers’ conference coming up in a few weeks time.
