Just over a week ago, Chinese manufacturer, Huawei, held a new product launch conference in London, England, where the company officially released the Mate 20 series. This series has Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 RS Porsche design and Mate 20X in its lineup. One of the highlights during the London release was its use of 7nm Kirin 980 SoC. There was so much anticipation with regards to the performance of this chip. It is the only Android SoC on the 7nm. However, its performance still falls short of Apple’s Bionic A12. Now, at the launch event of the Mate 20 series in China, the company stated that the Mate 20 Pro camera supports financial transaction authentification.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a notch which makes it the first phone in the series with the design. However, the notch was necessary to house all the sensors needed for the 3D depth-sensing camera system. With this camera system, the smartphone achieves swift face unlock and can be used for financial transactions. On the notch, we have a dot projector and a 24MP front lens. We also have a flood illuminator, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and an IR camera.
In addition to being used for unlocking, this system is more important mobile payment authentification. Huawei’s consumer business CEO, Yu Chengdong, said that Huawei Mate 20 Pro can be used with Huawei Pay and Alipay. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is equipped with a Kirin 980 processor coupled with up to 8GB of RAM. This is the flagship of Huawei’s Mate series’ with 8GB RAM.
