A new Android API will allow Android users to keep using specific applications even while it’s being updated. The in-app Updates API is currently being tested by some partners of the OS, soon after this beta stage, the API will be widely rolled out to developers.
However, this update will come in two forms: The first will be a full-screen update that will prevent the app user from using the app until the update process is finished. The second is more flexible since it allows the user to keep using the app while the update continues in progress.

According to the Developers Blog the “update flow” can even be customized to feel like part of the specific application supporting it. Developers will be provided with all the necessary stuff to implement this new feature in Android Apps.
There is no specific date for the release of this new API, but we suppose that it may come alongside Android Q as one of the major features of the future version of Google OS. The Android also is celebrating ten years of existence and just announced support for foldable displays, ahead of the race for this new technology that is set to start on the next year.
