Asus ZenFone 5Z confirmed to receive Android Pie by the end of January 2019


It has been 5 months since Taiwanese manufacturer Asus had introduced Zenfone 5Z flagship phone in India. Now, news is coming in that the company has officially announced the Android 9 Pie update for the device with an ETA of late January 2019, said Asus in a press release. This is probably for the Indian variant. The update on Zenfone 5Z will be brought as a firmware over-the-air (FOTA) to bring a fresh user interface experience and few improvisations.

The Android 9 Pie update on the phone is expected to come with interesting features likewise adaptive battery which will optimize with high priority apps and app actions which will provide a transparent view of their functionality. The update will also bring features like all-new contextual pop-up volume bar and a magnifier feature to help users to copy-paste. However, the company has not announced the other contents which update is going to come along with but we might have to wait a bit longer until we hear from them.
Asus is going to roll out an update for Zenfone 5Z specifically of ZS620KL which is Indian variant.

Apparently, the update is going to come in a phased manner, one might receive the notification update automatically but you can also check manually by following this path Settings > System > System updates when the update rolls out.
