One of cheapest pieces of hardware manufactured by Motorola in the last year – The Moto X4 – is getting an expansion in its lifetime due to a new update for Android Pie that is being rolled out today.
Earlier in November, Motorola delivered an Android Pie soak test, for those courageous enough to test a beta-unstable build of Android 9. Starting today, however, a stable version of the newest Android’s flavor is being rolled out in Brazil. According to XDA, there’s a high chance that owners in the United States will start to see the update as well, after all, the device completed the beta phase.

According to a screenshot, the update will bring Google’s November Security patch to the smartphone. If you can’t remember all goodies introduced by Android Pie, we are here to refresh your memory. The latest version of Android introduces a brand new interface that looks cleaner and brighter, features like picture-in-picture mode have been further improved. The giant of searches also introduced Digital Wellbeing to help users to control and monitor smartphone’s usage, and last, but not least Adaptive Battery comes to expand the overall energy consumption of the firmware and applications.
The Moto X4 completed a year of existence and is now receiving the second major update of Android. However, we can’t say if whether or not the smartphone will see an update to Android Q. At the moment, only users residing in Brazil are being contemplated by the update, since this is a phased rollout it may take several days to cover the entire country and some more time to arrive in other countries and regions.
