iOS 12 adoption crosses 75%

iOS 12 still seems to be catching up with iOS 11, so much so that its adoption rate of 75.05% would have been faster than last year. According to Mixpanel data, iOS 11 had a 75% share on December 17, about three weeks later than iOS 12.

However, the launch of iOS 12 did not presage such an increase in such a short time. Its launch was pretty quiet because of the bugs that Apple has corrected over the updates. Today, The latest relase is much more stable than ever, and iOS version 12.1.1 currently in beta only confirms this trend.

Still according to Mixpanel data, based on connections to applications and mobile websites, iOS 11 still represents a share of 19.5%, against 5.5% for earlier versions.

Gizchina News of the week

For its part, Apple said that iOS 12 crossed the 50% mark on October 10th. As of October 29, it reported that 60% of all devices are using the new release. When it next updates its chart, it should be comfortably above the 70% mark.

The new features of the latest iOS release have certainly played an important role in the deployment of this firmware. This should only increase in the next upgrade, when iOS 12.1.1 and watchOS 5.1.2 will be available to everyone. In particular, the ECG functionality will be proposed initially in the United States, while waiting for Apple to obtain the necessary authorizations in other countries. It will still be possible to activate it elsewhere by changing the Zone in iOS settings.
