Samsung trademarks “Rize” moniker likely for new smartphone series


The Samsung Galaxy M might not be the only new series of Galaxy phones we will be seeing in the coming year, additional series which are tipped to be a replacement for any of the Galaxy C, Galaxy J and Galaxy on series could also be in the making.

Letsgodigital reports that the Korean giant has filed for the trademark protection of the Samsung Rize moniker with the Intellectual Property Office. From the information available, the firm seeks to protect the ‘Samsung Rize10,’ ‘Samsung Rize20,’ and ‘Samsung Rize30 in the  UK, while a similar application has also been lodged in Mexico.

There are not many details, however, the application descriptions provided by Fieldfisher LLP of London specifically mentioned Smartphones, and that makes us think it could be for one of the galaxy series that should be arriving soon. Although Samsung hasn’t commented on the new Samsung Rize moniker, so it remains t be seen what plans Samsung got for newly trademarked names.
