OnePlus 6T camera goes through DxOMark tests


DxOMark has just published the results of its in-depth analysis of the OnePlus 6T smartphone camera. The phone got a score of 98 points, which places it below the best smartphones of the moment.

The OnePlus 6T comes with the same dual camera configuration as its bigger brother, the OnePlus 6, and combines a 16MP main camera with a secondary 20MP module.

The primary camera has a 1/2.55″ sensor and an aperture lens f/1.7 with optical image stabilization, while the secondary camera uses a slightly smaller 1/2.8″ sensor and an unstabilized f/1.7 lens. Both cameras come with lenses with the same equivalent focal length of 25 mm.

With a total score of 98 points in DxOMark Mobile, the OnePlus 6T has a respectable camera so it works well in most cases.

The OnePlus 6T has achieved a solid score in DxOMark Photo of 101 points. DxOMark has liked the wide dynamic range of the 6T, the pleasant colors and the good conservation of the details in almost all the conditions tested. The autofocus is reliable and fast. When shooting with flash, the skin tones are displayed very well and the bokeh mode is able to produce decent results.

Its main drawbacks are the lack of optical zoom, problems with noise in low light conditions and some artifacts.

Video: 91 points

The OnePlus 6T video score of 91 represents an improvement over OnePlus 6 (87 points). In its default configuration (1080p, 30 fps), the video mode produces very good results in abundant light, with a wide dynamic range, vivid colors, precise white balance and high levels of detail.

In addition, autofocus is fast and accurate, and the image stabilization system works efficiently to counteract hand movement and other high frequency movements.

However, the OnePlus 6T has problems with textures and noise, particularly in indoor and low light conditions, and also with artifacts such as noisy edges.
