Apparently, you do not need Zach from JerryRigsEverything to bend the new iPad Pros, all you have to do is buy one and if you’re lucky enough (not really), you’re receiving an already bent unit.
No, we’re not making this up. Many Apple users are complaining about receiving slightly bent iPad Pros. Sure, they aren’t as bent as you can get them by mistakenly sitting on top of them, but they do come crooked out of the factory.
This bending is indeed caused by a special manufacturing process in which both the plastic and metal parts of the iPad get cooled down at the same time. This problem appears to happen more on LTE models, but some users have reported it to be present in WiFi variants as well.
Just to be clear, this isn’t a fabricated story, Apple admitted the issue and claimed that it’s “fine” and it won’t affect the tablet in any way, thus you’re not getting it replaced. You’ll have to keep it as it is.
In Apple’s defense, there have been no reports of iPad Pros failing because of the bent body, so the problem is just aesthetic. Of course, you would hope to get a perfectly fine tablet if you’re paying $1000 or more, though!
