Google Assistant in the recent months has shown on several occasions to have enormous potential, revealing a more complete and reliable than those of the competition.
A new test, however, seems to suggest that the gap between the mountain view giant’s service and others like Amazon Alexa or Apple Siri is starting to decline.
Loup Ventures performed a test with Google, Siri and Amazon smart speakers for the second year in a row to determine which is the smartest option. Not surprisingly, Google Assistant won: out of over 800 applications, Google Assistant understood 100% of what was asked, responding correctly only 88% of the time.

Siri responded correctly to 74.6% of the questions and included 99.6%. Finally, Alexa included 99% of the questions asked, answering correctly to 72.5%. In fourth place was Microsoft’s Cortana, which included 99.4% of the questions but answered only 63.4% correctly.
The questions were divided into five categories (Local, Commerce, Navigation, Information and Commands) and Google Assistant won in all categories except in Controls, in which Apple Siri did better.
What is particularly interesting in all this, however, is the way in these numbers are compared with last year: in recent months, in fact, all have improved a lot but the competing solutions to Google Assistant have filled a good part of the gap.
The article title is misleading – seems as though Google Assistant has rated itself!
