Xiaomi recently announced a compact 13.3-inch version of its Mi Notebook Air in China a month ago. Now, the company is announcing an even more compact version in the same line-up with the 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air. The latest notebook has also been priced well at CNY 3999 (~$579), which roughly translates to INR 42,000. Sadly though, these Xiaomi laptops aren’t officially sold in India yet. In comparison, the 13.3-inch version costs exactly the same but gets you an 8th gen Intel i3 processor with 8GB of RAM.
Gizchina News of the week
Taking a look at specifications, the display is Full HD and the bezels are thin at just 5.7mm like the other notebooks in the portfolio. The design is exactly similar to the 13.3-inch version. 1.07Kg, and is about 12.9mm thick. Under that compact chassis, Xiaomi has fitted in a 7th Gen Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
There’s no word on the battery capacity of the laptop surprisingly, however, the company claims the battery offers about 11.5 hours of runtime. The laptop runs Windows 10 and comes with a USB Type-C port that also supports fast charge. The 12.5-inch Mi Notebook Air is official but it’s actual sales date is not. That should change in the coming days though.
put the latest AMD cpu’s in the notebook please! more powerful, power efficient and cheaper.
both xiaomi and apple will not use AMD until AMD provides them tons of option like intel. in mobile lineup, amd has at most 12 variants, when intel has more than 40 I guess. Even I am waiting for a macbook with AMD Ryzen 2 🙁 but bad luck.
that’s a pitty, i think it’s intel that is blackmailing the OEM’s and other manufacturers not to use AMD in their products, intel and nvidia are really nasty companies
