Whatsapp kills support for Nokia S40 devices

Effective from January 1, 2019, older Nokia S40 phones like Asha 501, 210 or 301 and others will not be able to use WhatsApp as the company has announced earlier today that it has totally ended support for the S40 os which was at a time the world’s most widely used mobile phone platforms.

As of now, the instant messaging app will continue to work on Nokia S40 phones till December 31, but you can no longer create new accounts.

Aside from the S40 phones, the Facebook-owned company also announced its plans to stop supporting devices still running Android versions 2.3.7 and older until February 1, 2020, as well as Apple iOS 7 and older until February 1, 2020.

    Finally!
    And they could do more! They can stop support Android 4.0.4 and older to make these 0.5% people upgrade their old phones!
