Xiaomi announces Mi AirDots Pro, an affordable replica of Apple’s AirPods


After announcing dirt-cheap wireless earbuds last year, Xiaomi has announced a replica of Apple’s AirPods called Mi AirDots Pro. Official renders of the true wireless headsets leaked a day back with details about its actual design and today Xiaomi has made the affordable headsets official. They’ve priced 399 Yuan ($60) which is a 100 Yuan more than the Mi wireless earbuds. Sales will start on January 11.

The Mi AirDots Pro is lightweight and a single one weighs 5.8gms and supports IPX4 water resistance as well. They can be paired with both iOS and Android devices including tablets laptops, and mobile phones.

Both the right and left can function freely of each other providing a  true hassle-free sound experience. Remove any single one from the ear and the second one will work in unilateral mode and the two headsets can also be shared between two friends without loss of audio quality.

In terms of sound quality, the Mi AirDots Pro comes with 7mm neodymium iron boron magnetic + titanium-plated diaphragm dynamic ring speaker unit, coupled with ANC active noise reduction that results in rich audio experience. It also boasts support for AAC codec.

The Mi AirDots Pro feature touch control for music, calls, voice assistants. Pairing is easy and it disconnects automatically once taken off from the ears after a standby of 30 minutes.

The Mi AirDots Pro can run for 10 hours of continuous use and also features fast charging and Xiaomi claims 1 hour for a full charge.

    while the notch has some logical base under it, that ugly toothbrush-tip-like design is just useless and unconvenient

      What? You think this is just an aesthetic decision? It houses the battery and also brings the microphone a wee bit closer.

    Pretty happy with my Anker Soundcore ones.

    They’re not cheap, but I prefer them to my Huawei FreeBuds, Mobvoi Ticpods and EOZ AIR.
