Earlier today, Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC appeared on GeekBench. Its single-core score was 4382 and the multi-core score was 9570. Compared with the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, the Exynos 9820 single-core score is higher but the multi-core score is slightly lower. It is reported that Samsung Exynos 9820 is based on 8nm LPP FinFET process.
The Exynos 9820 multi-core performance has been greatly improved while its energy efficiency has also improved if you compare this chip to its predecessor, Exynos 9810. The Exynos 9820 is powered by a Mali-G76 MP12 graphics processor with a wider execution engine. Samsung increased the number of channels which makes it deliver better performance and more efficient processing of complex graphics.

More importantly, the Exynos 9820 further optimizes mobile intelligence with an Integrated Neural Network (NPU) processor and its speed is many times that of previous generation processors, extending the field of artificial intelligence for mobile devices. It is worth noting that the Exynos 9820 supports encoding and decoding 8K resolution video at 30fps, presenting users with 10-bit color and various tones and hues. It also supports displaying live multimedia content on a high dynamic range display. The Samsung Galaxy S10 series which will be released on February 21st in Beijing will be the first to sport this chip (some versions are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC).
