The rumor mill is spreading some evidence of an LG smartphone with 5G that is set to debut on MWC 2019. The next smartphone made by the South-Korean firm will be its first device to sports 5G connectivity and will be announced on the last days of February during the annual edition of Mobile World Congress. According to a new report, the handset will have a pretty long name.
According to the folks at ETNews the company’s 5G device will be marketed as the LG V50 ThinQ 5G – That’s a huge name, that doesn’t roll off the tongue so easily – We suppose that marketing a device with a name like this, wouldn’t be an easy task, but LG seems to be convinced. The handset will debut on the next month and should be available for purchase in March.
Once launched, the device might come with a pretty whopping price that sits between $1165 and $1354 in South Korea. In the US the handset should be carried by Sprint with a slightly lower price. The European market should receive the device through carriers as well.

LG usually unveil the V-series models during fall, but apparently, earlier unveilings might become a permanent thing. After all, seems that the LG G8 ThinQ is believed to be the last of LG G-series, also the Korean firm isn’t interested in creating a new series just for 5G smartphones.
For now, just a few details are known about LG’s upcoming flagship. Snapdragon 855 will be running the show with a very respectable 4,000mAh battery to fuel all this power. According to the company, the handset will come with a dedicated vapor chamber that should help avoid any overheating issues.
Considering that this handset comes as part of V-series it’s safe to assume that it should sport a pretty unique design like its predecessor. We just hope that this LG V50 ThinQ 5G comes with a smaller notch since every company is pushing teardrop notches, or moving on punch hole designs.
