Since the official announcement of the Xiaomi Mi 9 release date, Lei Jun, Lin Bin and other top executives of Xiaomi has been revealing salient features of this smartphone. So far, the company has confirmed its appearance, processor, camera, fingerprint sensor, chin, price, and a few other aspects. Today, Xiaomi’s CEO talks about another feature if this smartphone – the sound quality. Lei Jun said that the Xiaomi Mi 9 is equipped with a 12×17 high-quality super-linear speakers. The 12×17 speaker is one of the largest speakers for flagship smartphones and the super-linear speakers are also top-notch.

In addition, the sound chamber is designed with Bass material to achieve a large sound cavity which is equivalent to 0.9cc. With this design, the loudness is much better. The company also used the industry’s top ultra-high voltage Smart PA to specifically dissipate heat for the sound system to achieve better sound. Xiaomi’s proprietary MiSound was also used on this smartphone for professional tuning and testing of user preferences.
Xiaomi’s CEO claim that the volume of the Xiaomi Mi 9 is large and using the DSM dynamic gain control, the external volume is increased by 100%. Looking at the design of this smartphone, there is an earpiece port at the top and underneath there is a speaker hole that is symmetrical with the USB-C interface.
Mi 8 has a crappy speaker.
If sound is focus where is a dedicated dac amp combo with a headphone jack. With out them all are just gimmicks
