Good news for those who decide to buy the Samsung Galaxy S10 but has no intention of using its virtual assistant Bixby. The Korean manufacturer will allow users to use the Bixby dedicated button to open any app they want.
Samsung has added an option in the settings that allow you to customize the button in question, which can then be assigned to open a third-party app with a single or a double pressure.

The option that is not assigned to another app will continue to open Bixby (for example, if you choose to open Instagram with a single press, with a double the assistant will be activated). A prolonged pressure instead will continue to launch Bixby.
This system solves the biggest complaint about the dedicated hardware button from Samsung to its virtual assistant. Unfortunately this setting is not yet available on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9, which have been updated recently to Android 9 Pie and One UI but the hope is that as soon as possible this feature is made available to their owners.
It is worth to mention that the Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e are now available for pre-order in the US and several countries and will go on sale from March 8, 2019, in select markets. Early adopters in a few select markets will get the Galaxy Buds worth $129.99 for free.
