UPDATE: UMi X2 delayed! UMi X1s coming soon!

UPDATE: There are conflicting reports as to if the delay for the UMi X2 is true or not, however Chinese media are reporting that the delay is true and it is due to problems with the RAM, as we stated. UMi Europe are also saying the reports are true on their Facebook page here. We’re following this closely and will let you all know if there are any changes/updates.

Bad news UMi X2 fans, UMi have informed the Chinese media that the X2 will be delayed due to optimisation issues, however the quad-core UMi X1S is ready and waiting in the ranks!

Thousands of hopeful UMi X2 fans are going to be highly disappointed this weekend as UMi have broken the news that the X2 won’t be launching as soon as they had hoped, and instead the updated X1S will see production first!

Gizchina News of the week

Apparently the delay is due to optimisation issues with the Mediatek MT6589 quad-core processor accepting 2GB RAM! This actually explains why ‘Youth’ versions of popular MT6589 phones have been appearing on sale, not to mention the 1GB RAM UMi X2 video we posted earlier today.

On the other hand the UMi X1s is ready to rock with supply chains confirmed and the factory prepared to start manufacture. The UMi X1S is an updated version of the X1 which launched last year and actually features the same hardware but with an updated quad-core MT6589 CPU.

For those of you not familiar with the UMi X1S the phone packs 1GB RAM, 8 mega-pixel rear camera, 2 mega-pixel front camera, 4.5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 2 plus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Pricing for the UMi X1S, which will be available in both black and white will be 999 Yuan ($160)

Hi Andi, thx for the info and some good feedback: just read this http://es.engadget.com/2013/03/09/neo-n003-filtracion/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+EngadgetSpanish+%28Engadget+Spanish%29 from Engadget in spanish; see, you’re doing fine! 😉

Keep on fighting we need your point of view, here and there.

And if the UMi X2 delays… not big issue for me: I’ll wait until my SGS dies without chance of revive. Then (2014-Q4?) I’ll laugh at the actual devices.

This is what I have posted yesterday on UMI India’s ofiicial FB page –

“UMI India has just clarified on their FB page that UMI X2 is in full swing and none of the rumors are to be believed. But if you look at their promises in past a month or so, it’s really getting hard to keep a faith on them.

    – The price originally promised was 12-13k whereas the price they declared was 20k which again after some drama came down to final 14k.

    – The exclusive Ebay Store was promised to be in action this week but still no signs of it at all.

    – The PayTM was promised to be active soon but still they are offering only Bank transfer payment option.

    – Service Centres and Experience Stores promises are repeated almost everyday but still it’s on papers only. If anybody reminds them on FB page, it is always requested to give some time.

    – Review units were supposed to be delivered to Tech viewers including Gogi before starting the prebookings but now it’s been told that the review units will be dispatched after 18th March whereas the prebooking has been started promptly well before the date.

    – Only thing they have done promptly is they have activated the Bank Account and started to collect the advance payments.

I think we should not make any advance payments at all to UMI. They should first deliver the product to reviewers atleast before asking for the advance payments.

    Better stay away from X2……”

UMI has stated on their FB page that they are making a ban on the people who are posting bullshit posts in bad languages. In my entire post, I don’t think I have used any abused or bad language at all. And I don’t bother if they have banned me cause their FB page is not the only option where I can write or raise some genuine queries about their misguiding commitments and I am definitely going to publish this post at most of the blogs.

UMI might be highly impressed by our politicians or their Indian head might be some ex-politician. Their funda is “make a new tempting commitment every day so that people get attracted at you & forget the same every night.”

They are experts in deleting the posts & banning the people who raise the genuine questions & the reason is that they haven’t got anything to answer these queries.

this guy was banned by umi from their Facebook page…hahaha we know from where all the hatred comes 😛 😛 😛

        March 10, 2013

        @LoL-
I have written the entire post here for which they have banned me. Not only me, but they have banned so many other readers on their FB page.
The reason they have mentioned is that the people aho are banned are posting BULLSHIT posts with bad language. Now. anybody can tell if there seems to be any bad language in my original post.
They just want the readers who will write in favor of them and they will ban anybody who criticize their policies and false commitments. That’s it…..
Doesn’t make any difference to the banned people at all……
