Zopo ZP980 5-inch full HD quad-core Spy Photos!

This day has been a long time coming! Finally we get to see Zopo’s flagship quad-core full HD phone in the flesh. Say hello to the Zopo ZP980!

It was just a matter of time that Zopo upped their game and finally announced a 1080 HD phone based on the Taiwanese Mediatek MT6589 processor. Zopo already have a range of quad-core phones on sale, and while they are pretty good they aren’t as great as the ZP980 appears to be.

Everything we have come to expect from a domestic flagship phone has been included on the Zopo ZP980. 1.2 GHz MT6589 quad-core processor, 5-inch 1080HD display, 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 3 mega-pixel front, 16GB of on-board memory and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean are just a few of the highlights!

Gizchina News of the week

zopo zp980 leaked photos

Zopo are usually less than generous with the RAM on their phones and the Zopo ZP980 is the same story with just 1GB available, however this does negate any compatibility issues which other phone makers are experiencing.

These exclusive leaked photos were supplied by our reliable source at Zopo and show that the ZP980 is actually the mystery Zopo phone we featured a few months ago.

As usual we are waiting for pricing and release details, however Zopo are usually quite fast to launch phones after initial leaks. Once  launched he ZP980 will be on sale over at Zopomobileshop.

    I’m just saying this: CAN’T WAIT 😀

Oh no no no, please don’t tell me this. I hope is a mistake. I need a 3G 850 Mhz and this is the only Zopo that doesn’t support it? Andi please, you will be my hero if you tell me this is wrong

      • March 31, 2013

@Val: Since its running on the MTK6589 platform, it will – just as all the other MTK6589-based phones – also support 850 MHz

Thanks @Georg I really hope so. I’ve been waiting so long for the Full HD Zopo (as many of us) and it would be a shame this was the only Zopo not supporting 3G 850 Mhz

        Hi Mr. Andi…
UMi X2 is coming up with very less prices with almost the same specs….Why they are putting their prices too high…Even with 1 Gb RAM…and will there be any 2Gb/32Gb model…and is there any expected date of launch…
Sorry for so many questions…But i am too curious…Please reply….

Don’t worry, Hero/Caesar rebranded phone will cost less.

        • March 28, 2013

Zopo always have higher pricing, but they also have English, Italian and Indian support plus warehouses in India and Italy meaning they are easy to contact and have good warranty.

…350$ ?! ( Don’t forget the pricey shipping costs) I think Zopo is heading to dangerous waters. Too much competition in that price range. I would choose ZTE, Lenovo or Huawei for a few $ more just for the build quality and after sales support – all of those have MT6589 phones similar priced.

It will be about $350. Take a look at Zopomobileshop (they also have a video of this device – search youtube for Zopo zp980).

Usually Zopa tends to sell their devices at a premium and I for one am not convinced it’s worth it.
The only brands I’d pay more for than regular China phone prices are Lenovo, ZTE , Huawei and Alcatel/TCL. Jiayu and Zopo are not there
The others I really don’t trust that much and consider it a risk. I’ve heard good things about Jiayu but they’re not there yet. Alcatel releases kernel sources for instance while Jiayu doesn’t really seem to care.

      thanks for that comment
i am interested in Jiayu G4 model but it seems that they’re having a few bumps ..
i know huawei i good, alcatel and zte are good sometimes..i had a few problems with their device
but isn’t thl a good company as well?

The smartphone (Zopo ZP980) is now available in India For just Rs. 15,999/- (INR). It’s a grate worth spending gadget.

I saw some good reviews over different web sites and decided to purchase it, but after I transfer money to zopo india’s bank a/c, there is no reply from zopo people, even that, they don’t pick up any phone calls since i have deposited money nor they reply and e-mails. I’ve seen that zopo people have written over their web site that the stocks are available, and they accepting on line orders in India and getting on bookings for a full amount, but now they are saying that the shipment will arrive this/next week and they will start dispatching the goods soon, there is no time limit, I m a bit confused. People willing to purchase this phone should aware of promise of ZOPO regarding delivery.

    thanks.

In my opinion zopo people are making some sort of fraud, they are accepting booking taking deposits, and never making any reply, Its my experience and i request zopo to focus this kind of problems coming before their customers, and try to remove them in order to maintain healthy customer base and customer satisfaction
