According to IDC research data, the global wearable device shipments are expected to increase from 125 million in 2018 to 189 million in 2022. Moreover, most of these devices are smartwatches, and only a small part of sales comes from smartbands. Fitbit, which is the former leader in the wearable market, is doing its best to win back its popularity. Last month, the Fitbit Versa Lite was officially launched in China, along with the Fitbit Inspire HR, Fitbit Inspire, and the Fitbit Ace 2, a total of four new products.
The Fitbit Versa Lite is an entry-level version of the previously released Fitbit Versa. Its main difference is the lack of the NFC, Wi-Fi, music playback, swimming mode, and other functions. As a result, the price has been reduced as well. It has 6 vibrant colors, including sea blue, deep purple, bright red, daylight yellow, lilac, and charcoal. As the most cost-effective smartwatch of Fitbit, the Versa Lite is priced at RMB 1398 ($208).
It’s still a smartwatch for all-day use, with all the core features of the original Fitbit Versa, It comes with activity recording, heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, over 15 target-based sports modes, GPS connectivity, mobile notifications, up to 4 days of standby time, SpO2 sensors that predict changes in blood oxygen levels and help track your health indicators, such as sleep apnea, and it is water resistant to a depth of up to 50 meters.

Apart from the Versa Lite, the Fitbit Inspire HR was launched in China as well. It’s an all-weather heart rate tracking smart bracelet that still remains cost-effective in Fitbit’s product line, priced at RMB 898 ($133). There are three color options, including black, lilac, and white/black.
The Inspire HR supports an all-day automatic activity record, motion and sleep monitoring, more than 15 target-based sports modes, GPS connectivity, breath relaxation guidance, 5ATM water resistance, etc. It features a touchscreen and provides 5 days of standby time.
The Fitbit Inspire HR also has a cheaper version, the Fitbit Inspire, which costs RMB 698 ($104) and features basic health and fitness features, including an all-day automatic activity record, exercise and sleep monitoring, and sedentary reminders.
As for children, Fitbit’s approach is a bit different from domestic companies. The Ace 2 is designed to help children over the age of 6 develop healthy exercise habits and has a family group to encourage children to exercise with their family members.
The Ace 2 not only supports 5ATM waterproofness but also has a screen saver cushion design. It is also more colorful and sports a dynamic clock face. Ace2 is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2019.
