Samsung Galaxy S10 starts receiving Night mode with a new update

Galaxy S10

Night mode of the Pixel 3 is for many the envy of the Android world and, therefore, it is not strange that many manufacturers have tried to imitate it in their devices to be able to take a decent image in low light conditions. Now it’s Samsung’s turn with a dedicated OTA update whose goal is to compete with Google Night mode by providing a dedicated night mode on the Galaxy S10 and S10+.

Rumors hinted that Samsung would take this mode to its flagship devices in late April or early May, and the rumor was correct since an OTA update was in preparation. The update that brings the night mode to the camera application also includes the security patch of April 2019.

Galaxy S10 Night Mode

The Galaxy S10 already comes with a Bright Night feature but was not selectable by the user. With the new Night mode, it is possible to choose when you want to take a picture in this mode.

The new update is now coming to devices in Switzerland right now, as Samsung is deploying it in phases. You can manually force a check to see if there are pending download updates if you go to Settings and, from there, to the software update menu.
