Huawei P30 Pro and Honor View20, the latest flagship models of the two brands, are starting to receive new software updates that bring the AR Measure application.
Beyond the obvious differences in technical, aesthetic and positioning terms, the points of contact between the P30 Pro and the View20 certainly are not lacking: from the extreme care in terms of design and construction materials, passing through high-level technical specifications.
An element that unifies the technical data sheets of the current flagships from Huawei and Honor is the Time of Flight (ToF) sensor for more precise depth detection. This sensor is useful for calculating the distance that separates an object from the smartphone, ensuring greater precision in portrait mode shots and opening up new possibilities for mobile gaming (motion-controlled gaming).

Another possible scenario for using the ToF sensor concerns the possibility of measuring the size of an object or the distance between two points. In this regard, Huawei has developed an application called AR Measure that uses the ToF sensor for this purpose and that at first was an exclusive of the P30 Pro intended for the Chinese market.
During the Parisian presentation last month, however, the producer had promised that soon the application would be made available globally and now, the international variant of the Huawei P30 Pro is receiving in these hours the update to the EMUI version 9.1.0.140 which includes the AR Measure app. The other features of the update are performance improvements for the camera and the April 2019 security patches.
