Asus decided to use Math to disguise and mock OnePlus and the recently released OnePlus 7. The company teaser simply brings the “5,000 > 1+7+3,700. This is an obvious allusion to ZenFone 6 that is set to debut with a 5,000mAh battery which is larger than the 3,700 unit in the OnePlus 7. Interesting enough, the Taiwanese firm didn’t choose the OnePlus 7 Pro, even though the greater than sing would still point to towards the Zenfone, one time that OP7 Pro ships with a 4,000mAh cell.
This is probably due to the price – while the OnePlus 7 Pro price starts at €700 (~$785), the non-Pro is being sold for €550 (~$617). According to leaked prices, the ZenFone 6 will be priced at under €600 (~$673). Last year, the ZenFone 5Z was the cheapest Snapdragon 845 smartphone in Europe, slightly below the price of OnePlus 6.
So, history may repeat itself. If this isn’t enough to overcome OnePlus, Asus also has some other cards up its sleeve: a dedicated microSD slot allowing storage to be further expanded, as well as the praised 3.5mm headphone jack and a Notification, LED. It also is confirmed to come with the almighty Snapdragon 855 and a 48MP main camera, just like the OP7.
Gizchina News of the week
Leaked images of the ZenFone 6 already revealed that the 48MP sensor will work alongside another 13MP sensor will act as the main camera and selfie snapper. The dual-camera sensor will flip up to the front, allowing users to record and capture images at the best possible quality. It’s somewhat similar to the Honor 7i except for the two cameras and will be a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy A80 that has a similar concept.
