Xiaomi’s next fitness band and the sequel to last year’s Mi Band 3 – the Xiaoi Mi Band 4 is expected to debut later this year. Xiaomi via Huami has already confirmed that the Mi Band 3 is still selling in its numbers and so the company isn’t in a haste to release a follow-up. One thing we do know is that the device will be released sometime this year, and that can be attested to by the fact that it has already passed through the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) where we got to know the device will Bluetooth 5.0 LE (Low Energy) as well as NFC connectivity.
Through a leaked render from previous weeks, we also go to know that the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 could be the first in the Mi Band series to feature a color display as well as Xiao AI, Xiaomi’s virtual assistant that debuted in April 2018. Today, we got a clearer and more vivid look at the Mi Band 4 via a render that confirms previous leaks. If these renders are authentic, then we’ll be expecting a Xiaomi Mi Band 4 with a color display instead of the usual black and white LCD screen on previous models, and the effect? a more attractive UI.

Remember, though, that color display zaps more juice more than the black and white screen, and that is why the MiBand 4 will get a bump in cells from 110 mAh on Mi Band 3 to 135 mAh. While nothing has been confirmed at present, the new renders also corroborate previous leaks that say the Miband4 will come with a capacitive button at the bottom of the display to power on the tracker, in place of a physical button has been used on previous devices. Other expected features include the Heart Rate Monitoring and Xiaomi’s own voice assistant called Xiao AI which could feature on the variant limited only to its home market.
There are chances these renders aren’t accurate, so we advise you take them with a pinch of salt until we get some more concrete and official info.
