Oneplus 7 and 7 Pro get Android Q Beta update

Oneplus 7 Android Q Beta

It was revealed earlier this month at Google I/O 2019 Developer conference in California, U.S.A that the OnePlus 7 and Oneplus 7 Pro, as well as the Oneplus 6T,  are among the selected smartphones to first get the Android Q Beta program. The Oneplus team and Google have rolled out the early preview for the OnePlus 6T and the OnePlus 6 and is today making the same Android Q Beta for the Oneplus 7 and Oneplus 7 Pro.

As stated on the Oneplus official blog, the Android Q Beta 3 is filled with more bugs than a Raid test facility as a whole lot of bugs and missing features are to be expected, so it should only be attempted by users proficient with sideloading, as there is no OTA available for this version. As noted in its release hours ago, possible issues include problems with the Ambient Display, SMS issues, navigation gestures not working, recovery mode breaking, overall stability issues, and more, so you are expected to download the updates here and proceed with extreme caution.

Familiar with the process or not, you may lose all data on your device, so we recommend keeping a backup of your relevant information, ensure you have enough storage space, while your battery should be plugged in or at least about 30% charged. Find a part of the exact words from Oneplus below.

We have released Android Q Developer preview for OnePlus 6 and 6T right after Google I/O, and now we are super excited to offer OnePlus 7 Series users an early glimpse at the future of Android.

As the name suggests, this build of Android Q is best suited for developers and early adopters. As it is still in an early stage of development, we do not recommend flashing this ROM if you have little or no experience in software development or flashing custom ROMs. Proceed at your own risk!
