HMD Global’s Nokia mobile has been getting some attention in the media recently, and that is because it has two events holding in India and Milan on the same date – June 6 for the launch of new/existing Nokia phones. While the Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia 1 Plus are tipped for Indian launch on June 6, it’s unclear exactly what device/s the Nokia licensee will announce at its Milan event. While there are murmurs the brand will re-brand the Nokia X71 for its global audience, indications have emerged that the rumored Nokia 6.2 may not actually be a re-branded Nokia X71, but a completely different device, though with some similarities.
Gizchina News of the week
A tweet from Nokia Anew says we will get to see a variant of the Nokia 6 at the event slated for June 6th. though there is no mention of the Nokia 6.2. The Nokia 6.2 will reportedly come with a more compact 6.2-inch display instead of a 6.39-inch display, two rear cameras instead of three, a weaker Snapdragon 632 processor instead of the Snapdragon 660, and 4GB of RAM instead of 6GB. And much like the X71, the rumored Nokia 6.2 is said to get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as a punch hole for the selfie camera. The camera details are still scanty.
Nokia Anew mentions that the supposed Nokia 6.2 will come with an elegant design with new colors, Zoom, and night mode all for $290. HMD Global earlier this week teased a Nokia camera feature along with the caption “See things in a new light on 06 June 2019” suggesting a dedicated low-light mode similar to Samsung’s Night Mode and Google’s Night Sight feature which are all especially beneficial for low-light photography.
