Samsung Galaxy Note 10 5G shows up on Geekbench

Samsung Galaxy Note 10

The Galaxy Note has been making the headlines for the past weeks, for obvious reasons definitely, as it remains one of the most anticipated devices in the second half of the year. The Galaxy Note 10 is expected to go official around August – at about the same time the Huawei P30 will be announced.

A lot has been heard about the device, and even as we inch closer to the launch, new rumors and leaks will keep popping up revealing new information about the upcoming phablet. Notably, Samsung will be making a shift from its usual annual tradition of releasing a single model of the Galaxy Note phablet. Reports have it that the Note 10 will come in two models- a standard Galaxy Note 10 and a Galaxy Note 10 Plus, each having a standard 4G  and 5G version, so in all, we expect four models of the Galaxy Note 10 in the coming months.

Gizchina News of the week

While we are still months away from the unveiling, two models of the device bearing the SM-N976V and N976B model numbers have been taken through the pace of Geekbench for performance testing. The Galaxy Note 10 with model number  SM-N976V is believed to be the Verizon only variant of the device and could come with 12GB of RAM with Snapdragon 855 SoC clocked at 1.78GHz, while the other variant with  SM-N976 gets just 8GB of RAM with Samsung’s Exynos 9825 chipset. And as per recent rumors, it’s going to be based on the 7nm node instead of the 8nm manufacturing process used for the existing Exynos 9820.

The Verizon bound model returned 3,529 in the single core and 10,840 points in multicore, and the Exynos powered Note 10 scored 3,557 and 9,654 points in the multi-core test. Both variants, of course, are expected to come with Android 9.0 Pie with OneUI on top.

Recent rumors suggest the Galaxy Note 10 might ditch 3.5mm audio jack for good, and could come with support 45W fast charging, a significant improvement over the Note9 18W charging. It is still not clear what design Samsung could opt for, though there are reports the Note10 will be upgraded significantly in design, perhaps, it will come with no form of physical buttons for volume rockers and power button.
