Speaking to a group of US journalists on a visit to the China-United States Exchange Foundation, Huawei’s Chairman Liang Hua expressed his company’s willingness to sign a “non-espionage” agreement with the US government and with anyone who will require it.
“We are willing to sign a no-spy agreement with the U.S.,” The Hill quoted Huawei’s Chairman Liang Hua, as saying. “The U.S. has not bought from us, is not buying from us and doesn’t have plans to buy from us. So, I don’t know if there’s an opportunity to sign such an agreement.”
Liang went on to say that it is inappropriate to use politics to harm a company like Huawei, but it shows great acumen in attempting a softer approach. At the moment the Trump administration does not seem to be in a hurry to resolve the commercial situation, but some progress could be made at the G20, scheduled for the weekend.
Gizchina News of the week
Meanwhile, David Daokui Li, president of economics at Tsinghua University, says that Trump’s move could hurt Huawei in the short term but could strengthen the long-term of the Chinese giant: “What President Trump is doing is waking up Huawei’s dormant ability”.
It is worth to mention that new information shared on Twitter reveals that the new Mate 30 series will have a new Kirin 985 chip and will debut with the HongMeng operating system, the Huawei alternative to Android, in China.
The Huawei Mate 30 series could debut around September 22, which is an improvement over previous years. What is not clear is whether the international models will also have HongMeng as everything related to the use of Android by Huawei is unavailable at the moment.
A more recent report stated that the company could announce its new OS this June. The Chinese company has also registered the nickname of Ark OS(Huawei OS ‘Hongmeng’ could be known as ‘ARK OS’ globally). It remains to be seen if the international versions of the Mate 30 series will come with Ark OS.
a “no spying agreement” seems pretty unenforceable. what would be the point when neither side really trusts the other side.
Why America target Huawei? During the Obama administration, Huawei, spearheaded by Meng WangZhou, the founder daughter from the first wife(he has 3 wives, the 3rd one is still a young lady, read up in Chinese forums and you will get it), was selling American Technology (HP, Hawlett Packard), using a fake shell company SKYCOM, financed by HSBC (Hongkong Shanghai Bank Corp) to IRAN. (Iran is the mortal enemy of USA and Saudi Arabia, who was ruled by the direct decendant of Muhammad S.A.W, the founder of ISLAM). So, Meng WangZhou, HP, SKYCOM, HSBC, IRAN. It is only after the Trump administration that they follow the lead and start to prosecute Meng. HSBC was irked when they found out about the Huawei Iran deal they financed. But Meng assured them and even personally presented a power point presentation to them. (which is now held as one of the evidence by US Court). HSBC Bank has been spared because they admitted of their wrongdoing and paid HUGE fines. So its not political implication for trump to go after Huawei, but they are just prosecuting companies that has been selling their technology to their enemy of the country. Oh. Just in case for those COMMIE TROLLS who are using youtube (which they are supposed not to do, since their firewall should prevent them), some Japanese has found out that if they chant “1989 Tiananmen Square protests, Falun Gong organ harvesting, Free Tibet” the China firewall will alert the authorities and block their internet. so here you goes 1989 Tiana
China and USA should start decoupling their economy and technology cooperation. Communist and Democracy cant be together. They are fundamentally different and soon or later they will be at each other’s throat. In fact, the decoupling has already started and most of the Chinese manufacturing has moved to southeast Asia where high salary and USA tariff can be avoided. Its better to avoid each other since they are gonna be enemies in the future (China and USA).
when in china, the average salary of waiter or manufacturing jobs are about 5000 RMB (or about USD$725), they are moving to malaysia or vietnam where the salary is about 1/4 or 1/3 of that. Just that the infrastructure need upgrading in vietnam and malaysia to match those of china. But it will soon. By then, USA and China can go their own seperate ways.
