Vodafone opens Spain 5G commercial service using Huawei 5G equipment

According to a report on MyDrivers, Huawei 5G equipment is available in 15 cities in Spain, and Huawei 5G has further expanded its business scope in Europe. It is reported that the operator using Huawei’s 5G equipment is Vodafone. Vodafone CEO, Nick Read, has publicly made speeches against the “Huawei ban” that some European countries are trying to implement. He is of the opinion that the exclusion of Huawei in the 5G era will lead to higher costs and slower network deployment.

Huawei 5G equipment for Vodafone

According to reports, the Spanish cities that will operate commercial 5G services include Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia. This will make Vodafone the first 5G network operator in the Spanish market. In addition, this places Spain as the third country after Switzerland and the United Kingdom to commercialize 5G in Europe. On May 14, Vodafone said that it will provide 5G services to users in seven cities in the UK. These cities include London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow, Cardiff and Bristol from July 3 this year. Vodafone may still use Huawei’s 5G hardware equipment in London.
