The Coolpad 8190Q will go on sale soon at around 700 Yuan ($113) and is likely to be a hit for those less interested in the latest spec and more concerned about their wallets.
In China phone prices are pretty low as it is. It’s not uncommon for quad-core, 1080 phones with 2GB RAM and 13 mega-pixel cameras to launch for around 1499 Yuan ($242), but even these low prices are still to much for the average phone users who just want’s something cheap and of good quality.
Gizchina News of the week
That’s what Coolpad do best, cheap and good quality. The Coolpad 8190Q will retail at just over $100 at launch and features the same 1.2Ghz quad-core MT6589 CPU and 1GB RAM as more costly phones, but with cost cutting downgrades in other ares to keep the price competitive.
The display on the 8190Q is a 4.5-inch IPS unit with a resolution of just 960 x 540, the rear camera is a 5 mega-pixel sensor while the front is a very cheap VGA unit, battery is 1650mAh, even Android is the last version of Jelly Bean 4.1.
The Coolpad does offer a low-price though, and most importantly will be easy to purchase in many high-street stores and supermarkets, where as the more high-end devices are only available online.
ehhh so 2011
what is so 2011 about it?
“with a resolution of just 960 x 540, the rear camera is a 5 mega-pixel sensor while the front is a very cheap VGA unit, battery is 1650mAh, “
This CPU is going to fly on this resolution, I expect higher Antutu scores than SIII and 60fps in all apps. Kudos to vendor.
The only downer imo is the battery. The mtk seems cool, the front vga on good light might be good enough for its purpose. However i’d like to now the pixel density.
245 PPI, perfectly fine imo.
yes, 245 ppi is really good (even for more expensive phones) now if it has 3g we have a real winner here (where do i buy one?).
I didn’t have a positive opinion of Chinese phones till I bought a Coolpad T20 triple SIM basic phone for someone. That phone was one tough little bugger. I will happily buy a Coolpad smartphone, but never with 1Gb RAM.
where can I buy one? I from EU.
