Huawei started to deploy the EMUI 9.1 update for the Mate 20 X yesterday. Now, the company’s sub-brand is delivering the very same 9.1 updates for the Honor 10 Lite and Honor 20i.
One time that Android Q isn’t available, this build is still based on Android Pie. It introduces GPU Turbo Mode to the pair of handsets. Furthermore, it introduces the very same feature that allows users to set up video ringtones for specific contacts. This feature is also available on Mate 20 X through EMUI 9.1 update. There’s also a new shortcut that calls AI-powered assistant by long-pressing the Power button.
Gizchina News of the week
Honor 10 Lite and Honor 20i update are currently available in China. However, its availability should be expanded in the coming days. Since the devices are also available in India, we don’t think it will take so long to arrive there. If you’re not patient enough, you can try pulling the new build manually by heading over to your phone’s Settings menu. By the way, take in mind that this is a phased release, while some users will get it fast, others will have to wait.
It’s interesting to see how Huawei is honoring its customers with updates, despite all the mess that the company is going through.
