Maybe you do not know him by name but Jonathan Ive, Apple’s design director, is the voice that, in recent years, you’ve heard describe the design innovations of Apple’s new products in the videos shown during the presentation events.
Today, we learned that Jonathan Ive has decided to leave Apple, putting an end to a great career of 27 years along which he has participated in the development of some of the most iconic products of the company.
Ive leaves his post at Apple “to set up on his own independent design company supported by Marc Newsom, which will see Apple as one of its main customers. The company will be called LoveFrom. In an interview with the Financial Times, Ive stated that he will focus on “wearable technology” and “health”, as well as engaging in various “personal passions”.
Despite giving up his executive position, Ive and Apple say they will continue working “in a series of projects with Apple.”
