Today, TrendForce announced the global notebook shipments in the second quarter of 2019. According to the report, in the mentioned period, global notebook shipments were 41.5 million units, up 12.1% from the previous quarter.
Also, the report pointed out that in the second quarter, North America accounted for one-third of the global notebook market.
As for the main players, HP still tops the list. It shipped 4.4 million units in June. But the overall shipments for the second quarter are 10.25 million units, up 11% from the previous month.

Gizchina News of the week
Dell’s shipments were 6.91 million units, down 8.8% from the previous month. As you guess, it’s the third in the world.
Acer, Apple, and Asustek ranked 4 to 6 with shipments of 3.485 million units, 3.21 million units, and 2.98 million units, up 38.6% (Acer), 1.7% (Apple), and (17.3%), respectively.
So what can we say about the global notebook shipments in the second quarter of 2019? The North American market is still the most active. Over 30% of all notebooks shipped worldwide were in this market. Interestingly, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, and other brands from this echelon are not on the list. This means all the aforementioned brands are popular only the domestic market, China.
Apart from this, HP still ranks first and it’s not going to yield its position. Though Lenovo is already breathing on HP’s neck, the gap is still obvious. If nothing accidental happens, HP will remain in the top position in the second half of 2019 as well.
