Wireless charging will exceed cable charging says Xiaomi

The smartphone industry is consistently evolving and OEMs are trying their hands in new technologies. A few years ago, nobody thought of wireless charging. Now, we not only have wireless charging, but it also appears that it can even charge faster than wires. At least this is what Xiaomi suggests from a new poster. The company displayed the poster in Guanwei which suggests that in the future, wireless charging will be faster than wired charging.

Gizchina News of the week

Xiaomi used the poster to illustrate charging technology in the 5G era. The company did not release any specific information. However, we expect it to announce something tomorrow. From the poster, it appears that Xiaomi has a breakthrough on non-wired charging technology.

Looking at Xiaomi’s recent flagship, Xiaomi Mi 9, the wireless fast charging power is 20W, and the cable is 27W. Of course, at the beginning of the year, Xiaomi announced that it would get a 100W wired fast charge. According to the company, this charger can fully charge a 4000 mAh battery in 17 minutes. It will be interesting to see Xiaomi demonstrate its breakthrough with the public. For now, we have to keep our fingers crossed. What do you think about this poster from Xiaomi? Is it just a gimmick? or is Xiaomi really serious? Let us know your thoughts in the comment.

Xiaomi is a big, serious company. They will deliver this. Let’s not forget that they are working with Samsung to release a 100 mpx photo sensor in their smartphones. I’m just curious who will be first on that, too.
