Huawei EyeWear smart glasses “Gentle Monster” arrives the market


Today is the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and Huawei unveiled some “new species” of its smart glass series. Huawei collaborated with Gentle Monster on these glasses. According to reports, Huawei EyeWear smart glasses are on sale in more than 140 stores across China today. Huawei EyeWear smart glasses were released in April this year.

According to Huawei, its smart glasses use a minimal design to give it a simple appearance. There are no physical buttons. The antenna, charging module, dual microphone, chipset, speaker and battery are integrated in the temple. In addition, the frame and lens are replaceable.

The glasses have a built-in voice assistant, and the user can answer calls by double-clicking the temple. Furthermore, Huawei smart glasses also have a charging bag. Just place the glasses inside the bag to wirelessly charge. It is the world’s first device to support NFC contactless charging. In addition, Huawei EyeWear smart glasses comes with IP67 waterproof and dustproof. It supports Bluetooth and a USB-C port. Users get a 20 hours standby time while the talk/music time can reach 2.5 hours. 

As for the price of the Huawei/Gentle Monster smartglasses, there are five models. These include Smart East Moon 01, Smart Jack Bye 01, Smart South Side 01, cost Smart Alio 01 and Smart Alio C1.  The first two are smart sunglasses while the last three are smart optical glasses. The South Side 01 cost 1999 yuan ($282) while the other four costs 2499 yuan ($353).
