Folding screen smartphone is definitely an epoch-making product in the consumer electronics industry. There have been a few manufacturers such as Xiaomi that announced about their plans on launching such handsets. But only Samsung and Huawei put it into mass production. Unfortunately, not everything went according to the plans. And the launch of similar handsets has been postponed for a few times. The screen issues may be fixed in the nearest future. But seems this is not true for both. This also means the release of the Huawei Mate X may be postponed again.

According to reports, due to insufficient production of the sixth generation of flexible OLEDs and weakening market demand, BOE decided to postpone its production plan and lower its production targets.

BOE is currently testing its B11 production line and is preparing to invest in the B12 and B15 production lines. However, some insiders believe that BOE’s additional investment rate may change due to lack of market demand and profitability.

Some industry insiders said that BOE recently decided to postpone the third phase of the Chengdu B7 line investment plan. BOE’s third-phase investment in the B7 production line is equivalent to 15,000 units per month. And BOE has begun testing the B7 line for mass production.

Due to the lack of market demand, BOE decided to postpone its progress. The demand for flexible OLEDs in the smartphone market has been drastically reduced. Say Apple’s iPhone sales with OLED screens have been weak last year. There is no obvious sign of recovery in the demand for OLEDs in the first half of this year.
