Huawei currently has a hand-full of problems from the US government. The most hurtful is obviously the prohibition of the Chinese company from using Google’s services. The recently released Huawei Mate 30 series cannot use Google services. However, the Mate 20 series can. A recent report out of the Netherlands suggests that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is now receiving the Android 10 update.

The Android 10 is designated EMUI 10.0.0.136 (C432E7R1P5) and weighs a whopping 4.42GB. Obviously, users will have to ensure that they have enough data and space before attempting the download. This update comes with the September 2019 security patch. As usual, OTA updates will not arrive at all units simultaneously. It will take some time (maybe weeks) to arrive all units.

As we know, EMUI 10 comes with a complete re-design of the user interface and it also incorporates some new features. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro was announced in October 2018 and it comes with an Android 9 Pie (EMUI 9.1) system. This device uses a Kirin 980 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Although the screenshots look good, this could as well be a staged rollout. Thus, it is best to verify this update from other regions before we confirm that the global rollout is active. However, you can as well check your device for any available update and let us know.
