Following the information obtained in July on World Emoji Day, the Unicode consortium published its list of most frequently used emojis this week. The institution is responsible for maintaining the Unicode standard, a sector-wide consensus for encoding and digital representation of text, symbols and (in recent years) emojis.
This is the first time that the organization has released its internal data on the use of various emojis, thanks to it we can get a precise idea of โโusers’ habits in terms of emojis, knowing the top ten user preferences. Here is the ranking of the most popular “smilies” right now:

The emoji ‘tears of joy’ and the ‘red heart’ are the two most popular of the group, as can be seen from the chart below, they reach about 10% and 7% of the overall use respectively.
